Leith in the sunshine

I don’t seem to get the time that I would wish to spend on this Blog, although I guess it is the same with all of us, life gets in the way most of the time. With some glorious spring sunshine, a couple of weeks ago we decided to visit Newhaven and Leith, it is easy to forget the gems we have on our own doorstep at times, particularly when we do get any good weather.

Newhaven lighthouse at the end of the pier with so many people around it was difficult to get a good photo.

After a feed at Newhaven, it was onto sunny Leith.

Some slightly hazy sunshine above the old Chancelot Mill (I know it is not called that now, but that is how I remember it) With a couple of Wind turbine support ships in the relatively new part of the western basin.

The water was still, and looked cold such is the water of Leith.

Still life in the old port with a lot going on now in relation to wind turbine supports being put together over by the Edinburgh dry dock still used by Dales Marine (If memory serves me)

More next time and look out for some incoming news on the launch of the latest book in the series on Leith Built Ships.
