This is a classic old coaster built by the Henry Robb shipyard in the dark days of the depression early 1930's. A time when most other shipyards were closed down or mothballed due to what became known as "The Great Depression"
The Miller was a small coaster but helped to keep the shipyard going, she was launched as Ship No 194 in July 1932. You can read a lot more about the struggles to keep shipbuilding at Leith during these dark days in the soon to be published Volume II (They Once Were Shipbuilders) in the series on Leith Shipbuilding.
